Time Travel and the Art of Happiness

Fronz Arp

Throughout 2014, I continued releasing a song a month but with an aim to produce fuller band arrangements for each track. "Time Travel and the Art of Happiness" was a track that didn't make the cut, however the title describes an underpinning theme of nostalgia, sadness and search for purpose which threads through the songs

Recorded and produced entirely in my bedroom in Paddington

Included in this download is a pdf booklet featuring all artworks created for each song release throughout the year

FRONZ ARP IS A TINY CROOKED ORCHESTRA

Fronz Arp

"... a complex and original singer with a vocal palette of exceptional range and intensity, from the purist sophisticated falsetto to the most plaintive heart-rending tones. He has a truly amazing voice. New York and then America will discover him I am sure..." Sam Cutler (former tour manager for the Rolling Stones and manager of the Grateful Dead)

"It’s easy to figure out where the David Bowie comparisons come from after hearing just a few notes from Fronz Arp. The poppy sound and catchy beats certainly bring to mind one of Britain’s finest" - The Indie Mine, 2013

Throughout 2012, I began a songwriting project designed to push my capabilities as a songwriter, producer and musician. In Fronz Arp is a Tiny Crooked Orchestra, I released a song every two weeks, produced in as high a quality as possible on my minimal home studio (mostly based around Protools and a Shure Beta58 microphone) and distributed to Itunes, Amazon, Bandcamp and all good online stores.

In the end there were 27 songs released for the project. The rest appear in VOLUME 2

What Strange Machines

On WHAT STRANGE MACHINES, released in early 2011, I wanted to explore the fringes of the dynamic, theatrical and often-abrasive writing style I've developed. The album was completely self-produced, recorded and mixed in the houses and bedrooms I've lived in recently (sorry for the noise, house-mates). The album seems to be shocking and entertaining folk all over the place (which entertains me)

"With brilliantly diverse musicality, Arp’s versatile vocals and the use of less conventional instruments such as the kazoo and the ukulele, Fronz Arp is not afraid to be adventurous" TRAXX RADIO

"These guys are weird! I think I’m in love!" HOSS THE BOSS

Live in an Empty Theatre

Fronz Arp

In November 2011, I entered the Red Box theatre space in Sydney to record a live, solo collection of songs including material from all my releases, including several new songs.
I haven't done many shows through 2012, due to my on-going 2012 writing project, Fronz Arp is a Tiny Crooked Orchestra, in which I've been releasing a song every 2 weeks throughout the year. So I thought I'd make the audio from this recording available. Thanks to the wisdom and advice of industry veteran Sam Cutler and the visual genius of Sydney-based Cinematographer Steve Munro, the videos look amazing and are available to view on youtube
